Sole Autosite
A folder of plain files, and suddenly a whole website. That is the whole trick, and there is no catch underneath it.
You keep your writing where it belongs: in files. Text, Markdown, HTML, images — dropped into folders and arranged however makes sense to you. Sole Autosite reads that folder and builds the site straight from it: the navigation, the listings, the image galleries, the paired pages in each language, all worked out from what is actually there. No database sitting behind it. No admin screen to log into. No menus to wire by hand.
The engine is a small compiler, written in Rust, that runs on your own machine — nothing to host, no account, no service watching over your shoulder. Your words stay in plain files you can read, edit, move, and keep in git. Nothing is locked inside a format only this tool can open. If you ever walked away, you would walk away with everything, exactly as you left it.
This page is one of those files. Every page on sole.computer is, and so is barefoot.computer next door. The engine builds both of them, every day. This is not a demo of what it might do — it is the thing doing it, right now, under the words you are reading.
Status
In build, and honest about it. Sole Autosite is not something you can download, clone, or run yourself yet — there is no release, no installer, no public repository. What tells you it is real is simpler: it already builds this very site. The packaged tool and its documentation are still being finished. When they are ready, you will find them here.
